This album serves as the sound track for the movie "Sakuran" (さくらん).
Shiina Ringo initially intended to create a highly produced sound, using a computer. She made some instrumental demos, but the film director demanded songs with lyrics. So she decided to record some live songs using Neko`s orchestration.[1]
She intended to make this album with Tokyo Jihen, but Hata Toshiki, the drummer, had broken his leg. The other band members participated. Ukigumo played guitar on "Gamble". In addition, he wrote "Oiran". Izawa Ichiyou played piano on "Gamble". Kameda Seiji arranged "Yokushitsu".
All lyrics written by Ringo Shiina, all music composed by Ringo Shiina and orchestrated by Neko Saitō unless otherwise noted.
